Eidsvoll stasjon – Arne henriksen arkitekter

EIDSVOLL STASJON
Gardermobanens forbindelse over Råholt til Eidsvoll gjorde det nødvendig å etablere en ny stasjon noen hundre meter nord for den eksisterende. Stasjonsbygningen ligger i tilknytning til ny brygge for «Skipladner». Et elveløp deler stasjonsområdet i en parkeringsdel og en stasjonsforplass. Det er atkomst til en midtplattform fra tunnel under sporene. Stasjonsbygningens beliggenhet i det storslagne elvelandskapet og nærheten til vannet, frembrakte et ønske om en skjelettaktig bygning der publikum både utenfra og innenfra kunne oppleve det fine landskapsrommet. Bygningsformen og konstruksjonene skulle samtidig gi uttrykk for publikumsbevegelsene gjennom bygningen til sentrale ekspedisjonsfunksjoner og via utvendige trapper til undergang og midtplattform. Rammekonstruksjonen i limtre med glassfyllinger gir bygningen både innsyn og utsyn. Den sammensatte
ytre limtrestolpen gir feste til det utkragede baldakintaket. For å motvirke tunge og klumpete limtrekonstruksjoner, ble konstruksjonsdelene splittet opp til slanke tverrsnittdimensjoner, og deretter koblet sammen til et samvirke. Alt trevirke er furu, utvendig behandlet med klar lerkeolje, og innvendig vasket med grønnsåpe. På gulvet er det sort ottaskifer. Som en motvekt til alt treverket er innvendige flater behandlet med farger. Alle utvendige beslag er grønnpatinert kobber.

EIDSVOLL RAILWAY STATION
The Gardermoen airport express train’s connection through Råholt to Eidsvoll necessitated the construction of a new Eidsvoll Station a few hundred metres north of the existing one. The station building was juxtaposed with a new quay for the old sidewheeler Skibladner. A river course cuts the station area into a parking area and a front entrance area. Access to a mid-platform is gained through a tunnel beneath the tracks. The station building’s location in the magnificent river landscape and near the Lake Mjøsa inspired a wish for a skeletal building that would allow the public to experience the fine scenery from indoors and outdoors. The building form and constructions also had to express the flow of the public through the building to central expediting functions and to the underpass and the middle platform via outside stairs. A frame construction in laminated wood with glass inserts ensures that visitors can freely see in and out. The complex outer laminated wood pillar construction secures the cantilevered awning roof. To impede the use of any heavy or bulky laminated wood constructions, the construction parts were split into slender cross-section dimensions and then conjoined in an alliance. All the wood materials are in pine, treated on the outside with clear larch tree oil and indoors the wood is brushed with green soap. Black slate from Otta covers the floors. To counteract any impression of too much wood, surfaces on the inside have been treated with colours. All external fixtures are in green patinated copper.
