HYDRO TEXACO BENSINSTASJONER
De to bensinstasjonene ligger som et tvillingpar på hver sin side av Ullernchausseen. For å utnytte tomtene maksimalt og samtidig løse støyskjermingskravet, ble stasjonene utformet med en omsluttende mur. De ulike programkrav med butikk, servicehall og vaskehall er integrert i murlivet som dermed utgjør en funksjonell helhet rundt pumpelandskapet. Kontor og personalrom ble av plasshensyn lagt i annen etasje, utformet som en glassboks med sirkulær avrunding mot pumpelandskapet. Den ofte klaustrofobiske opplevelsen man kan få i vaskehaller, er motvirket gjennom bruk av glass og glassbyggesten i vaskehallens yttervegger. Det kan være en fin opplevelse å se vaskemaskinen fare over bilkarosseriet med sine roterende børster. Den lyddempende muren er med stussfuger og bakenforliggende støyabsorbasjon.
HYDRO TEXACO PETROL STATIONS
These two petrol stations are like twins on either side of the ring road Ullernchausseen. To get maximum use of the lots as well as to meet noise reduction requirements, the stations were encircled with walls. The various programme demands with a store, a service hall and carwash are integrated with the wall face, which thus forms a functional totality around the petrol pump landscape. The office and personnel rooms were placed on the second floor to conserve space, and given the shape of a glass jar with a circular rounding facing the pumps. The usual claustrophobic feeling one gets in an automatic carwash is countered by the use of glass and glass bricks on the facility’s outer walls. This also treats customers to the experience of watching the carwash machinery running across the body of a car with its rotating brushes. The noise muffling walls have butt joints and underlying noise absorption material.
