AVLØS BASE, BÆRUM
Den nye vognhallen har et uttrykk og en form som styrker helheten og sammenhengen til det eksisterende, samtidig som den nye vognhallen klart skiller seg ut som et bygg fra sin tid. Eksisterende vognhall har “dobbelt” saltak i øst-vest retning ved at to saltak er lagt ved siden av hverandre med rennedal mellom. Den nye vognhallen har en takform med motsatt retning ved at taket legges vekselvis på undergurt og overgurt i fagverksdragere med nord-syd retning. Den gamle og nye vognhallen karakteriseres på denne måten av sine takkonstruksjoner.
Avløs Base er en stor sammenhengende bygning på ca 16 500 m2 brutto som består av eksisterende vognhall fra 1920-tallet (ca 1800 m2) og nytt tilbygg (ca 14 700 m2). Bygningsanlegget er utformet for å kunne hensette 25 stk 3 vognsett av typen MX3000 fordelt på 13 stk innvendige spor som igjen er fordelt på 4 vognhaller.

The new train shed has an expression and a form that strengthens the whole complex and the connection to the existing, as well as the new tramshed clearly stands out as a building of its time. Existing train shed has “double” gable roof in the eastwest direction when two gable roof placed side by side _ . The new hall has a roof construction with opposite direction. The old and new tramshed characterized this way by its roof.
Avløs Base is a large contiguous building of about 16 500 m2 gross consisting of
existing train shed from the 1920s (about 1800 m2) and new additions (approximately 14 700 m2).
