SLEPENDEN STASJON
På Slependen stasjon er landskapet meget dramatisk med bratte skråninger og store nivåforskjeller. For å bringe tilstøtende gangveier ned til stasjonens plattform, ble det nødvendig med både trapper og ramper. Med et slikt utgangspunkt åpnet det seg muligheter for konstruksjoner og bevegelser som gir publikum stor variasjon av arkitektoniske opplevelser. Stasjonen på Slependen består av en rekke enkeltstående byggverk – en rett og en krum rampe, et rotundehus, et trappehus, et rampe-/ trappehus og to broer. Alle har sitt selvstendige arkitektoniske uttrykk med et beslektet formspråk og materialuttrykk. Rotunden, med en spiralformet rampe av sorte betongelementer, er helt spesielt konstruert. I elementet er byggverkets form og struktur kodet inn – som et slags gen. Ytterveggens krumning, rampens stigning og det arkitektoniske uttrykk ligger nedfelt i dette ene elementet som ved addisjon skaper rotunden.
SLEPENDEN RAILWAY STATION
At Slependen Station the landscape is quite dramatic with steep slopes and large differences in elevation. Stairs as well as ramps were needed to connect adjacent pathways to the station platform below. This offered ample opportunities for constructions and visual flow that treat the public to a variety of architectural experiences. The station at Slependen consists of a series of individual constructions – a straight and a curved ramp, a rotunda, a covered stairwell, a ramp/stairwell edifice and two bridges. All have their own individual architectural expressions with a related idiom and material expression. The rotunda, with its spiralling ramp of black concrete elements, is a particularly special construction. The building’s form and structure has been coded into the element, like some sort of gene. The outer wall’s curvature, the ascension of the ramp and the architectural expression are also imbedded in this single element, which also forms the rotunda.
